I'm a self-taught artist and writer with a lifelong passion for creative expression. I've always loved to draw, and from my early teens found it easy to reproduce an accurate picture from a photo or other picture that had captured my interest. Also at that stage, working only with all grades of graphite pencil.

Moving on into adulthood, and a routine working life, later followed by marriage and children, I no longer had the spare time to continue and laid aside my pencils whilst concentrating on home-making and knitting and sewing clothes for myself and family.

Years later, when the children had settled into school life, and I could spare more time for creative pursuits, I experimented with glass engraving and painting, raised copper work, and various other activities in a similar vein.

I was also writing creatively. This, triggered initially, whilst out walking our dogs with the children. It was fun making up stories to amuse them, and once home again writing them down.

Eventually, I started writing for adults, sending stories, articles, and the occasional poem off in the hope of publication, with some success. During this period of my life, I also returned to my art, exploring working with colour.

At first, I worked only with Derwent watercolour pencils, before expanding via Bob Ross paints, several well-known brands of watercolour paint, acrylics, and inks, including alcohol inks.

My subject matter also grew along the way, and now spans the natural world, through to semi-abstract and fully abstract compositions. I find inspiration in organic forms, vibrant colours, and fluid movement – always seeking to create pieces that evoke emotion and connection.

Whether through pen or paintbrush, I attempt to capture the essence of moments, real or imagined, and share them in ways that inspire, entertain, and connect with others through my work.
